Following consent for the 16-turbine Cairn Duhie Wind Farm in February 2024, RES is now preparing for construction of the project which will be capable of generating clean, low-cost electricity for around 57,000 homes every year as well as being expected to deliver around £4.4 million of inward investment to the local area in the form of jobs, employment, and use of local services during construction and the first year of operation.

We will shortly be commencing site investigation (SI) works on site which are expected to take four to five weeks to complete. The SI works to be carried out includes drilling of exploratory boreholes, digging of trial pits as well as various types of sampling and testing.

The website will be kept up to date with details of the SI works which are scheduled to commence on 6 July 2026.

The start of construction for the Cairn Duhie Wind Farm is expected to commence in Summer/Autumn 2027 following a period where we will be working on the detailed design, procurement and discharging of planning conditions.
